Good evening all,

I've got a few problems that I could do with some help with if possible.

Long'ish storey, we were traveling back from france recently and the crank shaft pulley sheared off on our 2010 3.0tdi. Fortunately it happened when parking up at a service station. We managed to get it repaired out in France and we headed back.

We got most of the way but then had and engine speed warning flash up and limp mode rpm was limited to 2500rpm.

I've just been able to scan it. And have the following codes

Looking at the fans, they are both free to move.

Restarting the vehicle clears limp mode.

I can clear the codes but obviously they come back if it's pushed again.

I desperately need to get this sorted as it my wife's car and we need it to be able to get our 2 year old to nursery.

Looking up the oil pressure code it suggests that it could be the N428 pressure control valve.

I've found this one but am not sure if it's correct, the route cause or where the damn thing fits?

Any help or suggestions would be fantastic.

Thanks
Greg

Best regards

Hi there, did you ever managed to fix your issue ?

As per the PM kind of but not in the way that I'm afraid will help you.

Mangaed to get a good look at the front of the car and found that the connector section of a sensor had been broken off (probably when the pulley let go) but had not been replaced by the garage in france (Grrr)

Got it replaced by my local specialist back home and it was good again.

We did sell the car about 6 months later though.

On a side note as mentioned I did buy the N428 pressure control valve so if anyone needs one let me know :)

Cheers
Greg
