howdy, where can I find my engine code on a 2005 3.0 tdi Quattro? I'm looking to buy a new clutch and need to check its compatible with my engine/gearbox.

Thanks in advance

Engine code should be on the build sticker for the car which is usually in the service book or front of the manual.
If you don't have these quite often there is a sticker in the spare wheel well.

Take a picture with your phone and job done.

Thank you Found it in the service book, it's a BKN, now to find a decent clutch, any recommendations?

I would have a look at Buypartsby they are very good for LUK clutch stuff which is what I would fit.

Sometimes worth looking on Fleabay and ticking the international box. Quite often get much cheaper prices from Germany as the DMF looks a bit pricey.

About £60 cheaper. In this country you won't get much cheaper than Buypartsby though.

Thanks for the links, I saw Luk on eBay but was unsure if these are reputable or not, after seeing your build thread and you recommend then it must be good

Most OE VAG OE clutches are LUK or Sachs. The Clutch in the 3.0 TDI I have is supplied by LUK.

Thanks for the help, I have ordered from Germany, much cheaper, that's a handy trick I need to set my eBay up for international searches,

Would you know how long it takes/garage cost to replace so I have a ballpark figure so I don't mugged
