Advice needed on remapping an A3 2.0T Quattro

Hi All,

Some interesting debates on here, especially the ones about 3.2 v's 2.0T!! I chose my 2.0T as i know turbo engines are generally much more flexible and more responsive to modifying

Had my eye on the s3 for a while but with the order times, high price and very tight discounts available according to my mate my mate who is an intermediary dealer and sorted me a cracking price on my current audi, i decided cant be bothered with the hassle and gonna keep my 2.0T.

Can anyone recommend a remapping/tuning company anywhere in the U.K?? And give me any indication what sort of gains you would expect and where you would see this - i'm presuming most would be associated torque increase?? and slight acceleration??

Any comments really appreciated

I had mine done by my local Audi Dealer for £500 all in. The power has increased by around 50 bhp and 45 - 50 lb/ft . I believe the dealer uses AMD for the remaps and having it done through the dealer means my warranty has remained in tact.

The car goes very well, really smooth and quite alot quicker than it was prior to the remap.

Well worth having done.

I would see if a dealer near yourself offers a similar service.

Don't dismiss Superchips, there 2.0T quattor was producing some very good perf figures.

I'm sure someone else will be able to tell you if they offer bluefin for it whihc would make it switchable.

Thanks for all your advice. Had this done today at ADS in preston who were quality would recommend them even if you arent close to them. They used a REVO remap and my car now has 265 brake and 315 lbs torque. It was a really slick and professional setp-up and the performance difference is unbelievable. Its not aggressive power but there throughout the whole rev range and keeps pulling well past a erm.....pretty high top speed!!

And as a random comment in the 3.2 v's 2.0t dabate - the 2.0t with a quality remap must surely win hands down as it gets the best of both worlds. Might not sound the same but who gives a sh@t about that??!!

is that a more than 50% increase in torque they are quoting?

would love to see a map of that sort of power, if its real it might be worth changing to the four pot

I live in Preston and although i havent had a remap done by ADS a mate of mine with a mk4 Golf R32 uses them and he gives good reports back of their service.
Any REVO dealer should just be able to plug in and uplaod the map, its as simple as that!

i will be getting a switch but they did not have the programmable one in stock - it basically allows you to have custom settings if you struggle to fill up with v power fuel or if you fancy something different.

cost was £580 all in and fitted with full support and the option to change programmes in the future etc

Had my Revo upgrade carried out by an Audi specialist called DIALYNX in Swindon, wilts. They where very good and the upgrade was the best £500 I ever spent!

warren can you back me up with the graphs and figures above as i'm sure some people wont believe the gains you can get from revo - i didnt at first!!
I would put money on it that 0-60 is in the region of 5.5 - 6.0 and the torque pretty much goes and goes through the gears........especially 6th gear. i am seriously finding it difficult to keep it below 90 and it just picks up and up and i reckon that you could hit 160 top end??
I just hope that nothing starts smoking and sets on fire soon!!

I would take any power graph or a claim with a pinch of salt especially one claiming flywheel figures as posted above.

As you can see in the above graphs the car was allready making 20 - 30 lb'ft more than what Audi claim as a bench figure for a standard car.

From what I have read Revo are a little optimistic in their power claims I would imagine a revo'd car with no further mods would make a real 250 - 260 bhp and around the same torque.

315lb/ft is OTT for an otherwise unmodified car and I would be careful if it is the case that your car does kick out this kind of torque then your clutch and gearbox aernt going to last to long if your not very sympathetic toward them.

Get your car down to a totally independant dyno and get a power run done and let us know what the ATW figures (even better hubs) are not the guesstimate flywheel as posted in the dyno graphs above are.

Power-wise it propably could, but the gear-ratios won't allow for it.

I have the APR remap myself, together with Milltek full exhaust. With this setup, I was able to get to ~155mph on the German Autobahns. At this point the car was pulling nearly 6500rpm on 6th gear. As the power starts to drop quite rapidly after 6000rpm, there's just no way to get anything more out of the car with the stock gear ratios. If the 6th gear was longer, I'd guess 160-165 should be quite doable.

revo is there or there about. i was getting 257bhp, can't remember the torque, from my a3 2.0t dsg, revo stage one, no other mod, v-power 99ron fuel, 15*c temp outside, select sps - boost 6, timing 7 air/fuel 9.
i did several runs using vagcom from a rolling start 3rd gear on a long quiet road - motorway, between junctions. using different sps settings. i would post my graphs but my mate has the laptop.
