Hi,

I have heard that most S3 seats include the pad that heat the seat, but just miss the controls/wiring. Is this true? Is it an easy task?

Anyone else done it?

Cheers,

Anyone else got any opinions on this?

Yes, this is the holy grail when it comes to the S3 Recaros, I've read about it a few times on here and Tyresmoke.net, a few people have tried connecting some kind of cut off loom under the seats, but with no success. :haha:
I already have heated seats in my S3 :moa:

I have tries many dealers and specialists and apparently they do NOT come with the pads and heating in as standard.

I'm amazed by this as the money it must cost manufacturing 2 sets of different seats.

The wiring loom under the seat is for the side airbags.

Apparently though its fairly easy to add pads into the seat but do not feel particulary comfy about cutting the seat to do this.

I had heated seats on my old S3 but don't have them on my current and don't really miss them to be honest, I just turn the heating up more or have a curry the night before I know it will be cold!

Hmmm.interesting..I dont have heated seats, but think its a great little extra to have..

i retrofitted heated seats but have not wired them up cause not sure which wire goes where

They will fit into the subframes, but the wiring is where the problem lies..
Whether it is possible or not..

Sorry, i've fitted them Airbags are fine and electric seat adjustment is fine too (lucky cuase I had elec lumbar support!) Just not wired up the heated seats cause not sure which pin does what!
