MMI update

Hi Folks
Sorry if in wrong thread, question is how do I know which my MMI version is, and how old the firmware is in regard to the latest update, I know my maps is RMC which I believe is dealer only due to activation code, can I get the firmware updated myself without going to the dealers, hope this makes sense.

You have the RMC system, and as you have already said maps are dealer activation only. You can update the firmware yourself but there are risks as updates can fail. Your firmware/maps are from around 2013 and there will be newer firmware, but you won't get any additional features, so unless you have bugs in the system then I would not bother.

Makes sense my car is 2013, that was what I was wondering if I would get any other features, works perfectly fine so looks like I'll leave alone cheers B5NUT
