hi guys me again

need to replace the cat on my 1.9tdi red i (longitudinal engine) ive got the three bolts lose on the turbo end, is there any quick/ trick way to getting to the lower 3 bolts??

thanks in advance

if its the same as the 1.8T its a ****** ballache. its sometimes easier removing the downpipe from the exhaust and taking the cat and downpipe out together.

If you want to try and undo them, remove the driveshaft heatshield for extra room.

yh sounds very similar, mechanic mate said drop the d/s gearbox mount to get room, just wondered if there was a way around it

on the petrols theres usually enough room with just the heatshield removed, but if its stuck in the past i've always just undone the downpipe underneath the car, and pulled the cat and downpipe out together. They usually fit out the top with the airbox removed.
