rear shock rattle/ticking?

Hi all,

I put a post on a couple of months back regarding a rattle on the rear right of the car. 2007 S3.

Checked over a few things like loose covers/heatsheilds etc and found nothing.

Took it to a garage and was advised that it maybe my low pressure fuel pump wearing, and to be fair to the guy advising/diagnosing the sound is coming from that area. I took the step to replace it and low and behold the rattle is still there.

Now my next step is to investigate the rear shocks and top mounts, i will not let this rattle beat me.

Anyone got any other ideas?

have a look at the plastic sleeves over the shock absorbers.

I have excactly the same noise(rear right), must be the top mount. I am waiting to replace my shock absorbers to change the top mounts as well. Let us know..

Haven't got round to inspecting as yet as idle issues have taken priority! will keep you all posted on findings though.
