gray smoke loss of coolant

My a4 has been to the garage 3 times since xmas its blowing gray smoke out of the exhaust for the first 5 mins of traveling first thing it also looses coolant within a week had EGR valve changed also injectors changed and still have the same problem anyone else out there with the same problem

Useful to know what engine it is. I suspect it may be a 2.0 TDI , These van suffer cracks in the head which result in the same kind of thing as you are seeing, could be a head gasket issue as well. How old is the car what model is it ?

2006, A4, TDI, S line, they say that the head gasket is fine its spent more time in the garage than out last time it was out i only had it a week and as I say it lost all coolant rang the garage again still waiting for a answer from them luckly, they loan me a car free of charge whilest its in therewith 146000 miles on the clock
