VAG-COM Should i buy one? What can i do?

So I've been thinking this for a little while and since I'm getting my car in under 2 weeks I keep thinking should i get one so i can do stuff but unsure what it is lol.

Can anyone help and tell me what can i do also how does it work? Also a link to where to buy one (don't want to get the wrong one) Hopefully it does not need a CD as my drive is broke on my laptop...

It's very useful if you're planning to stay in the VAG group - also hold their values pretty well used anyway if not.

There's lots of 'tricks' if you like as in the link above but also invaluable for running fault scans and live engine monitoring, etc.

Could be worth me getting one then. How much do these cost? I see some "kits" at about £10... This can't be right?

Anything much less than this is likely. Fake. Fakes cant use updated software, they only work with the version they are supplied with.
