Hi all!

First time poster and first time on this site! Looks great, can't wait to get involved.

Long story short, went out last week to buy a Nissan 350z. My first proper 'big engine' V car. Got shot down by the missus because of the lack of seats.

Walked to town yesterday to get a Starbucks, and stumbled upon a beautiful 55 plate Audi A3 3.2 V6. Took it for a little test drive which started awkward as it's DSG and I've never driving an auto box before. But my god what a thing. Power, noise, looks and 5 seats for all the family.

Needless to say, I drive home.

Here she is. Can't wait to learn more about her, Audi's and chat to you all!

Sam.

Hi, are you in Yeovil by any chance? I'm sure I saw this car for sale there, at Highland Cars a few weeks back. My friend almost bought it but decided to go for the sensible option and got a BMW 1 series diesel instead! It's a nice car, I had a good look over it when it was on the forecourt :)

Thanks all! A few days with it and I already love it.

I am! Your friend missed out! Went on Saturday and picked it up straight after the test drive. Small world, eh?

Very small world, I told him he should have bought it! It looked like a nice car, he didn't test drive it but I told him to drive it as I knew he would love it! I think the idea of saving some cash on fuel got the better of him though, but it worked out well for you!

Did it have a service history with it? He didn't ask the guy who was selling it. Mine is an a3 2.0tdi with DSG and the only thing I would say is double check the gearbox oil has been changed at the correct times, every 40,000 miles. It's about £200 at Yeovil Audi but it's definitely worth doing as the DSG box can be pricey to repair/replace.

Any mods planned?

Yeah, kind of glad he didn't go for it! Haha. It's a lot of firsts for me. First Audi, first V6 and first automatic car. I so far love all of those things!

It didn't have any service history as the previous owner lost the book, but I went into Yeovil Audi to order a new service book yesterday and they said Poole Audi did most of the services on it. Ordered the book from them today and they'll stamp it for the services they've done.

A friend has an S3, and he recommended I go to RCMR in Yeovil for all my services, etc. Apparently they're an Audi specialist! I'll check up on the DSG oil.

In terms of mods, not sure yet. The exhaust isn't as nice and rumbley as I'd like so I might look at that. Visually, in really tempted to change the grille for a matte black one. Other than that I have no idea! Still firmly in the honeymoon period. Smiling every second in it.

Hi Sam, welcome to the forum. Great choice of Audi and not to egg you on, but this is my black grilled rumbley 3.2. (Powerflow cat back making it rumble). No need for in car entertainment.... :salute:

It's pretty funny actually as he already hates his BMW and is looking at other cars after only having it a couple of weeks! Awesome, sounds like you're having fun with it! Ahh yeah I think the DSG box is brilliant, I do a lot of motorway driving and if you get stuck in traffic it's just effortless.

That's good with the servicing, mine is the same actually, I bought it without a service book and did mean to do what you have done with getting a new one etc. But haven't got round to it in the 19 months I've had the car!

I haven't heard of RCMR but will definitely check them out when it comes to needing any work done.
