Hey quick question. Is the plastic thing inside the sump needed? The part that the bolt goes through and then into the oil pump has snapped off. I have super glued it but was wondering if it's really needed?

It stops the oil getting really frothy from all the moving parts. Not catastrophic to not have it, but very much recommended.

windage tray.... leave it in... the minute you brake hard you will end up with a gob of oil being dumped into the crankcase PCV... this will either just exit the engine into your catch can or recirculate round to be burnt in the engine thinking you have broken something....

At high RPM the crank will pick oil up and throw it out the PCV too...

Thanks both. Not sure if I broke it as I was removing the oil pump or if it has always been that way. Thanks for the quick replies. It's now back in and sump is back on.
