I have a 2004 B6 1.8t sport, fwd 6 speed, done under 100k miles and it seems to have a gearbox whine. Im a little disappointed for the mileage to be honest. Wouldnt have thought a car under 100k would need a gearbox rebuild/new box.
The noise gradually starts at about 50mph and gets louder the faster you go, it doesnt change when you put the clutch in and if you move the gearstick over to reach 5th/6th the noise gets alot louder then quitens back down to what it was when actually in gear.
Can anyone shed some light on this issue? Easy fix? Replacement box? Cause of the noise?
Thanks Eddy
