56 Audi A3 sline new tailgate??

Evening All,

Used to be a member many years ago with An A3 then S3 then newer A3.

Now just bought my 4th A3 which is a 2006 (56) Audi A3 2.0 TDI SLINE Quattro 170.

My question is i need a new tailgate at mine has some damage on it, which year tailgate will be a straight swap?

Would a 2008-2009 tailgate fit?

also what are my options for rear lights upgrade? which newer year lights fit? are they a straight swap? thanks

Any boot (8p1-3) will fit
You didn't state which version of the car you have so,
3 door lights you have my 07? my09 my11(lightest tint to darkest) which are straight swap.
5 door you have the upgrades which require kufatech adaptor and programming via vcds

What does 8P1-3 mean? Would a 2009 tailgate fit?

So on a 3 door any lights up to 2011 fit, so I coul straight swap for 09 or 11 lights?

Yeah pretty sure that's correct. Basically MY09 and MY11 are different styles so you chose which you prefer and will be a straight swap.

8p1 is 2001-2004
8p2 is 2005-2007
8p3 is 2008-2011
Years may be slightly wrong that's off the top of my head, any year of the 8p tailgate will fit and the lights as I previously said will fit plug and play your version are the lightest then my09 is tinted slightly and my11 is the darkest tint and a slight different style.
