Brake disk cleaning

Hi all... I have that horrible yellow/brown rusty stuff (brake dust?) covering the brake disks.

Is cleaning brake disks as easy as I think it is?

Jack up, support, take wheel off, clean, back on, done?

Also, what products do people recommend?

If you have surface rust on your disks, just drive and apply your brakes, that will remove the surface rust!
