I ran a VCDS scan on my better halfs 1.6 sport 00' and it came up with the below faults. The lambda sensor looked like it had been previously replaced with a universal cut and shut job as the wires were all corroded and melted near the sensor at the joins from the cut and shut.
I cut and recrimped the joints and it threw up the same faults so bought a replacement sensor and after much faffing around and cursing managed to get the old one out and the new one in. Ran another scan and same faults. Cleared the faults and ran another scan, same faults. I even disconnected the battery for 15 mins and tried again and threw up the same codes.
So now I'm guessing there must be a wiring fault from the ecu to the multiplug under the car.
Is there an obvious point i should look for first and seeing as its throwing an input open and the charcoal filter is throwing an output open fault could these be linked?

01247 - Activated Charcoal Filter (EVAP) System Solenoid Valve 1 (N80)
26-00 - Output Open
00525 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor (G39)
05-00 - Input Open
