s3 8l starts on 3 cilinders

Hi ,

My car has startingprobs when he was standing for a few hours .

Car starts up on 3 cilinders and goes over to 4 after 30 seconds .

I already changed the sparkplugs and one coilpack from cilinder 1 because this whas the only fault code i had .

Starting was perfect for one week and now the problem is back again .

check your wiring to the coils bud, had the same issue a few years ago, when the car starts move the wiring around and see if it jumps around between 3 and 4 cyl.

If you can, take the plugs out and use a camera device to check inside and around the pistons. Could be a headgasket failure and water/oil going into a chamber until it burns off.

Already done that , sparkplugs where all grey and the 4 pistons had the same amount of carbon buildup on theme . I would think if there was a gasket leak aT one of the cilinders the piston should be cleaner or different from colour .

The car does uses some water from time to time ... And can not see any leak .

That's correct - you'd have a clean patch on one of the pistons...
