Amplified or half amplified - Nobody seems to know..

Ok,

So i have an X-Reg S3.

I have a Audi Concert CD/tape deck, the sub woofer in the boot etc.

Audi have told me it left the factory with FULLY AMPLIFIED BOSE. However, i have absolutely no BOSE branding on speaker or anywhere... So im leading to think they're talking nonsense?

Im trying to swap out the headunit as mine dead with the common volume fault! Grr!

Can anyone else actually help me, becuase Audi are confusing me!

take a look at the sub in the boot, if it has one speaker its the half amped. if it looks like 2 speakers in there its bose.

otherwise get the non bose adapter cable as its cheaper if that doesnt work take it back and ask to swap it.

Mine 100% looks like the BOSE sub. Definately twin speakered and black.

cant say 100% as i have the half amped system. That one looks right but i've never tried one.

some of the adapters allow you to keep the bose full system where as others require an adapter with RCA cables that plug into the back of your new headunit to control the rear half of the system.
