Extreme Parking

Went to Costco today, 36 x ultra plush microfiber towels for £10.78 40.6cm x 40.6cm. Can't go wrong even if you only use them once and then bin them for that price!!!

Didn't take any chances on parking though :) Well away from everyone and uphill of the trolley park ;)

The cloths are not bad and great value

Reminds me of the old multi-storey in Windsor ..... short spaces, that were so tight you needed to wind down the windows and slide out.

On the positive side, no room for anyone parked next to you to open their door with any force :-/
Same goes for the stupid car park in Maidenhead on saffron road, stupidly same spaces only smidgen bigger, a q7 parked there and took up 1.75 spaces length and 25% of the next spaces so has a total of 4 spaces. Moron parking warden was giving them a ticket. I asked why, what are they supposed to do and it's not their fault your greedy council made the spaces ridiculously small

3D Dent Repair (PDR) looked at my car today, and said that spot the door ding dent is at, is the worst spot for dent. Saying its located where there is no easy way to get behind the door to pop it up, he referred me to a body shop.

Got a hefty quote from the dealer's body shop as he said because of that uneasy position of the dent that they are going to have to strip and repair the crease and repaint that will cost me $760.

I'm waiting on a final estimate from the detailer that put on my Opticoat, he looked at it today too, said it might be higher than the $200-300 he text me from my pic, but he was saying they are likely going to have to drill a hole in the door to reach that dent if they can't get to it from the door tear down.

*deep sigh*

That's to bad mate...
I had an A4 quattro special edition and a week before I sold it a right'numpty' backed into it with a pick up and put a small dink in the boot right where the crease line was....grrr. Had a dent specialist look at it and to be fair he had a good go at getting it out but because of where it was (crease line) he told me that to get rid of it completely the whole boot lid had to be stripped down and re painted.....The dent stayed...... Apart from that little bump the car was immaculate..Here is a pick of the car....

I thought the car on the left was a S3 until I looked closer and see that it's an S4.

I'm going to have get on board and start doing the extreme parking.

A few days ago I thought I had bird poop on my car from the door frame going down to the bottom part of the passenger door.

So I was praying for a rain to wash off the visible dirt.

That happened yesterday while I was at the lot at the grocery.

This morning going to my car as I looked closer, see that wasn't all bird poop as I thought.

I just got this OptiCoated a month ago.
Bruh, that's vile... Gotta wish some voodoo level karma upon whoever did that to your car.

I'm pretty guilty for parking far away from people too!

Doesn't always help though...
The parking at my doctors is an absolute nightmare, I parked up assuming I was safe, however when I was returning to my car I actually watched a woman bump into the back of my car (gently but there really is no need to be bumping off cars!).
She then rolled back, drove forward again and parked with her bumper touching the rear of my car.

I approached her and was swiftly told where to go and that it's "just a car".

There was no damage but that was within the first month of ownership, I was absolutely livid

Now to me that is too far away, you run the fine line that your car is safe from dings but it opens it up to opportunist thieves or vandals as it's so remote :suspicion:.
Funny you should say that. Wasn't a problem, but had been to the cinema (Star Trek Beyond in case you're wondering) and had a strange thought when I was walking back to the car. There was a scruffy Citroen of some sort with it's nose towards my car (parked across 3 spaces) with some young lads eating takeaway. Opposite was a Golf GTi, again with young lads eating takeaway.........decent 65 plate car though. Things go through your mind in those situations. Anyway, wasn't worried as there were 3 of us and we are all big guys (over 6ft), not that there was an issue anyway, but stereotypical things do go through your mind. Guy in the Golf was having a good look as I drove off, but trying not to be obvious, which made me smile. Movie was great by the way. Anyway, that was my day!!

Went to Chester Zoo today, the car park police tried to get me parking bumper to bumper on the grass with this lot!!!

1

After a quick 'I'm not leaving my baby here' thought, I poked my head out of the window and said "I'm not stopping mate" then proceeded to drive past him, onto the main entrance road, around some bushes to this spot :)

2

When I came back I saw this mini :) S/he must have seen me and thought "Nice car I'll park near that", but s/he wasn't taking any chances with the other side, s/he went between me and the bushes where there wasn't even a marked space lmao :D

lol no way I could have left my car in the crowd! All the prams were coming out of boots and I just thought of one being dropped on or pulled over my bonnet after I had gone!!! :D

Sometimes I wish I had an old shed I could just dump anywhere and not care!

One of the downsides of park assist it gets you into some very tight spaces only to leave you worrying about those either side of you struggling to get out. To the point where you loiter until another space becomes available then move the car. As much as I like the option maybe its not such a good idea.

its a neat feature but I'd rather walk further if it means I get a safer spot :gun2:
