Cigarette lighter replacement.

I have a pre facelift estate and my sat Nav charger and other adapters seem too small for the lighter. Has anyone replaced theirs for a different socket that the chargers eyc will fit in securely.
All help and advice appreciated as usual.

I havent, but found the same issue with my mums old '96.

I'm sure my brothers '98 S4 was ok, so maybe just try scrapyard for a slightly newer B5 and see if its any better?

Mines a '99 so it's what to look for ie the facelift one replaces the pop up cup holders I believe.

If yours is a 1999MY then it should be a facelift model surely?!

The VIN says it is a '99 but it has the fogs in the headlights and cigarette lighter at the bottom right of console so I presume it is one of the last pre face lifts.

I've got one of these 4 way plug things I need to use as its plug fits the cig lighter OK but the satnav doesn't but it goes into the female socket on the 4 way adapter OK
