Help! 'booming' engine on 2.0 turbo petrol

Hi,

Wonder if anyone here has come across this before. Got an '07 plate 2.0 turbo petrol special edition s line. Had it 4 years and has been fab, 104k miles on the clock now, couple of weeks ago I noticed that the engine had started booming (like exhaust loose or engine mounts gone), however local specialist checked the car over and couldn't find anything. They also said they'd had an identical car in with identical symptoms…they'd replaced the engine mounts and could find no faults…

Anyone come across this before otherwise its main dealer at £125 per hour + vat for fault finding!

Can't help you with your original request however Birmingham audi told me you should get reduced rates for cars over certain age (can't remember which age mind you) said for mine 06 rates reduced to £75 per hour. Still expensive but better than the original £140 an hour!
