Hi guys,
One headlight bulb went out on my b8 sline today. It's a xenon LED headlights model.
A quick search tells me that I'm looking to replace a D3S bulb? As far as I can tell they're OEM so 4300k
The car is six years old almost now, would you guys go for replacing both? Or just the one that's out?
Also anyone bought for a reasonable price from a reputable firm? Had a look on eBay and there's a lot from Eastern Europe which has put me off slightly.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I would replace both with a reputable brand. Cheap bulbs are not as well focussed as decent ones.

There are plenty on Ebay that purport to be genuine bulbs but it seems to me that a genuine bulb is around £75 at least. The cheap ones on Ebay are these Chinese copies.

They are not genuine bulbs.
You can buy genuine Philips D3S from carpart4less for £90 with the £10 off for spending more than £75 thats £80 a bulb.

The Osram Xenarc is the other bulb of choice pretty much the same same price as the Philips. Non genuine bulbs seem to come without boxes.
Or you can buy a pair of fakes for less than £40 off Fleabay

Karl.

As desertstorm says, there are a lot of fake Xenon/HID bulbs in the market. Supposedly 80% of Philips and Osram bulbs on eBay are fake. There are ways to tell but you would need to have the bulb in hand and even then most people are fooled.

I know for a fact http://www.powerbulbs.com/ are official Osram and Philips dealers in the UK and are also decent on price.

Not that I'm trying the hard sell but I will have a set of Original Philips 4300K for sale soon as I've upgraded mine in my A4. They are 5 years old but happy to let them go cheap.

Thanks for the response guys, appreciate it.

Dpaz, when will they be available? I'm looking to change in the next 6 months so they would suit fine. PM me mate, but I'm after them ASAP. Thanks.

I guess the other alternative is to visit a breakers yard, at least then you know they are OEM audi bulbs.

They are effectively same company as EuroCarParts so they will be genuine bulbs.

However powerbulbs.com which I referenced earlier would have been cheaper. Particularly as they have a promotion code deal on for Christmas I believe.
