Secondary air pump problems on my 3.0 avant

Hi Guy's, Has anybody had any problems with the secondary air pump ??
I have had fault codes and found split in a pipe,now the pump is making a horrable noise.
TPS quoted me £486.00 +VAT and non gen is £196.00+VAT
CAN IT BE REPAIRED ??
If not what are my options guy's.

It's common for the SAI pump housing rivets to fail, which is an easy repair. You can also bypass & remove the whole system if you want.

Hi, is there a thread with ref to bypass the pump ? I have been told if I do this it will cause probs with light coming on and won't run smooth.
Has any body fitted a after market air fillter system ?

funny enough my relay stuck open causing the pump to constant run. through the night and then flatten the battery. i unplugged the unit and all is spot on. im just lucky though
