Clanky noise when idling and slowing down

Hello, I have a 2003 8p 1.6 sport

this morning I started my car and left it to warm up but I noticed that every now and then I could hear a clanky sound, also I when I tried putting it into gear it refused to do so but it did after a few attemptsi drove it down the street and back and noticed that there was avery distinct wine sound from gear two

Is this two different problems?

could the first noise be engine bearings?
Any help is appreciated
I also live in the surrey area if anyone knows of any good people to take the car to

UPDATE:

Took it to Hardy Engineering in Leatherhead who were very helpful and took a long time to carefully look over the car, they narrowed the problem down to inside the gearbox and could be something to do with the input shaft or a bearing.

The clanky noise would go every time the clutch was disengaged so this was a tell tale sign i was coming from the box.

The cars going in tonight for a more closer inspection and hopefully the box is going to be reconditioned.
