Don't know too much about exhausts but looking for something to beef up the sound of my car especially when accelerating. Would just changing the backbox (on a budget of around £200) do? Any advice - nothing too loud mind!

IF this is a similar setup to my A4 the back box does next to sod all, removing the centre silencer will improve things though. When I swapped my back box over on mine we ran it up the road with no rear box just for giggles. We were gutted when it was pretty much silent.
I would go for something like a non resonated cat back system from Millltek but that won't be £200 unless you can source a used one. You could go custom from one of the many known suppliers but to be brutal you might as well make it yourself from toilet roll tubes as they nearly always use compression bends and naff grade stainless.
