Morning guys/girls

ive been looking into prices for refurbing my factory Audi wheels for the past week now, average powdercoat price is £120 per wheel plus courier vs painted price of £80 per wheel( no courier needed as it's in my home town), I knew it would be a little more than standard as they are a 2 piece wheel but is the powdercoat worth the extra £200 to get done?

thanks

Jamie

2pack paint and make sure they prepare (prime) the wheel. Will last longer, look shinier.

i went with standard BMW paint on my bentleys.. never again! chips way to easy. Powdercoat is the way to go in my honest opinion.

2pack paint is not standard paint and powder coat chips way easier than 2pack. also if you have a chip it is easy to fix up when its painted. if powder coated you have to do the whole wheel again. it will be more than 80 a wheel as well. think more in the region of 500 pounds the set of 4 (this is australian prices, not sure how much in england)

Just had four 18" ones for the golf powder coated gunmetal by The Wheel Specialist, £380 including fitting and balancing tyres. Had a set of used RS4s done last year in original flat charcoal, top job each time. Loads of finishes to choose from.

Paint finish is miles better but it chips away too easily (as I've found out several times). Powdercoat is tough as old boots.

I agree with the above....I spend a lot of cash to get my 19" OEM wheels corrected & painted by the reputedly, the best company in Sweden....and after 6 months they are sh#t! Original new or powder coated if I ever do it again!

No where near £500 for a set to be powder coated in the UK.......... Hydro-dipping isnt even that expensive. If your in the Edinburgh area I can get your set powder coated for about £220 at Pentland Powder Coatings. The best wheel refurb place Ive ever used.

apparently its because the 2 piece wheels are a pain to strip down and take longer to prep....£220 sounds like my idea of a good price
