Higher pitched sucking whistle type noise

Couldn't think of a decent title I'm afriad!

My S3 is Revo'd so I'm used to hearing a more pronounced sucking noise when I put my foot down than pre map.

Recently, however, the noise has got noticeable higher in pitch.

Thought it might be the DV, but that should only make a noise when I take my foot off the gas shouldn't it?

Could it be a leak somewhere?

Can I ask a really stupid question?

Have you checked the passenger door window is fully up?!

I had a similar sounding whistle, and I traced it to the passenger door window being open about 1mm! The whistling was just the wind, but only noticeable above a certain speed! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh_roll.gif

Reminds me of the sounds of compressor surge...check your boost pressure.

Another stupid, but possible cause - a while back, my front wipers started making a high-pitch noise when driving at speed. Might be worth a quick check.
