Hazard lights randomly came on while parked

Just had a call from the misses. She's borrowed the car and when she's parked up the hazard lights have come on. Couldn't turn them off. Turned the car on off. Locked the doors unlocked and they wouldn't go off. 5 mins later they just stopped. Any ideas? Just a bit random?
its an 1.8t a3 2000

Did she press the hazard switch by any chance?

No and pushing the switch didn't turn them off

Faulty Hazzard light switch. Similar thing happened to me.

New switch cost £40 from dealer.

Definitely not the alarm she was still sitting in the car at the time. See if a replacement switch sorts it out if its only £40. Cheers
