Audi A4 B6 - Front Grill Mod

Hello people,

I have spray painted the chrome trim around the front grill to black colour. The problem I am having is I can't seem to put the trim back onto the grill properly! All of it goes in except the one side that sticks out?

I was following this guide B6 A4/S4: Removal & "Blackout" of Ultra Sport grilles

Information in the guide is spot on but it's just me, I am having a hard time putting the trim back on.

Can anyone shed some light?

Lol I have been trying to a point where my thumb is hurting now. Tbh I have been putting the trim back on from one side to the other. Could it be that I need to put it in from the centre first and do the sides last?

Get a paint strip gun or hairdrier and heat up the side tabs so they will flex more without breaking.

I used a flat screwdriver to carefully ease the tabs in.
