They are mdf adapters to allow an aftermarket 5.25" speaker to be fitted without any modifications being done to the door panel.
Costs a lot less than getting out the jigsaw, buying mdf and spending hours getting the perfect fit.

A while back he was the only one supplying those iirc, I don't recall any company offering those
