Hi,

I need to change my battery its 2002 A3 1.8T, had a google and found a guide to do it on the older A3 model, in the guide it said you need to remove the airbox next to the battery, I assume this is just for better access, my question is can you get away with removing and replacing the battery without taking the airbox off ?

thanking you nicely :)

You won't need to remove the airbox to get the battery out... there is a 13mm bolt clamping it to the tray and thats about it...

I've done it with the airbox in situ, removing it does give you more room to play with, it's not difficult to undo and take the airbox out, another 10 minutes max to remove and refit!
