1997 Audi a3 - CAN-BUS or KKL?

Hi all,

I have purchased an

ELM 327 USB to OBDII 16 pin interface cable which I think is CAN-BUS and it doesn't work!!​

Do I need another cable such as a KKL cable?

K line mate... 8L didn't get canbus... that was the 8P...

Great, bought the wrong cable!

Ok so has anyone had any success with using a cheap K line cable?

I have used a serial ebay cable ok on mine before but I have a full version of VCDS with a Ross Tech KII usb cable... saved me the price of it on more than one occasion

So a cheap K line cable and VCDS lite should work ok?
