A friend of mine is having a problem with his egr valve, basically one of the plastic cogs inside the plastic cover has stripped a few teeth.

Having read a few threads online, I see this is quite a common problem, and I was just wondring if anyone who has had the same problem has been able to just replace the cogs ?

Thanks

Think this was problem with mine recently. Engine in and out of limp mode for a few days and then valve stuck open and choking engine so no power.

I had EGR valve replaced, I did look at it afterwards as some suggested just cleaning it but it was not too badly choked up. A gog had a few teeth missing and the main spindle seemed very stiff, possibly bent.

No idea if you can replace parts, but given the volume of these that let go IF you could get hold of a second hand one and had some knowhow it may be possible to mix and match?

I would say that it is always the same cog that goes ?

Which is why I would appreciate any advice on who makes it, and if there is a way to get them
