engine ecu has locked me out

my engine ecu has locked me out because i entered the wrong access cose any body any ideas how to fix ?

Been to get car map today and can't pull software out because the ecu is locked

Been told take battery of all night or leaving engition on for
40 mins each time code was put in wrong

i think i have fixed it i left ignition on for a few hours and i can now get into engine ecu security access with code 12233 which i couldnt do before .

seems to me likes the ecu has had a map before on it which is why you would of had a problem trying to get into it, if you have sorted then thats good, if you couldnt you would of had to get the ECU recovered.

na old map wasnt locked it was lock because i entered the wrong adaption code to many times and u need to leave it 40 mins each time u enter it wrong.
