Temp gauge stopped working?

A3 tdi

Stopped working this morning. Noticed was doing anything

On ignition it still moves up n down
But no temp
The engine is getting hot as I can feel it

Thermo stuck open?
I have recently had a new temp sensor!
I have no dash lights n no fault codes. Cheers
