I have a standard red DIS on on A4 Cab, dispays data fine but the actual LCD has a defect which means part of the info shown is obscured, kinda annoying.
I know this is a common prob on B5 A4s and other audis but I have looked all over and I cant find a LCD to replace.
The pic shown will hopefully show the defect.
This isnt the solder type you ding on the B5's, its a locking connector on the PCB so its dead easy to swap out, the only scary bit is pulling the needles off the cluster !
I have emailed a couple of cluster repair companies to see if they will sell me the LCD but my plan B is to pick up a B6 cluster from a breakers or somewhere.
If anyone has a B6 cluster that is faulty and they want to exchange for some beer tokens let me know. Has to be from a B6 cab or I believe a B6 A4 as they share the same screen, the B5 LCDs are different I think.
