Lowering 40mm??

Hi everyone, have any of you guys got 18's and lowered the car 40mm. Was just wondering if theres any issues like scrubbing ect.

I also heard i may need adjustable Droplinks, or is this not the case only lowering 40mm?

Any pics appreciated too.

i think that if you lower an a3 by that much then you wil need new ARBs that go under the drive shafts else they will foul each other

is it a fwd or quattro, if its fwd you dont need the tie bars, these are for quattro models which run multilink rear suspension, where as the fwd run trailing arm

You may be fine with a 40mm drop and the standard ARB but it's on the limit so you wouldn't know until you fitted the kit.

Okay cheers, ive heard the s3's are are lower by about 20mm?
Is this the same for the 1.8t sports or are they same height as the 1.6?

That year Sport models are lower by around 10mm.

mines got 18x8 with 225/40 tyres. et35 with 5mm spacers making it et40. its lowered more than 40mm, no rubbing on arch anywhere nor arb. my arb goes over the top but i think it may have been changed as i think mine is lowered more like 50mm, but unsure as its on coilovers.
