I knackered the O/S/R caliper piston trying to push it back when changing pads not knowing that they needed winding back.

Anyway I bought a new one of ECP that was suppose to be my spec. For an A3 2005 2.0TDi Quattro.

Anyway, I bought it back in November and through personal circumstances I only got round to changing it round today. Only to find out that it doesn't fit. It's too short-the distance between the two holes in which the bolts run through to the pad carrier. (see attached - that's with the top bolt in, doesn't reach to the bottom!)

I'll probs need to send it back somehow, though it's got brake fluid in it from the tubing you can see running into it.

And I'll need to source a new one which will actually fit!! :(

hi is yours a 140 or 170? maybe theres a difference in disc size. i know the front discs vary.

Its a 140. The website even specified it was for the 138bhp model.

Gutted.
