fault code help

hi guys,

used my fault code finder today.

found 3 faults.

1, Maximum boost pressure exceeded - static no define (my car is only boosting at 5PSI)

2, Engine coolent temp sensor (G62) - implausible signal P0116 (my car runs fine, fan kicks in when needed)

3,Mixture adaptation - sporadic adaption limit (add) exceeded

can anyone shed some light on these codes

I would say.... new coolant temp sendor first. and check the wires to it.
The fan is controled by the rad fan switch ( fitted into the rad) so isnt linked.
The coolant temp sendor has 2 jobs... 1 feed to dash temp gauge, other is a feed to ecu to tell it what temp the engine is.
They fail on these engines quite alot,
This could be linked to the mixture fault as it may think the car isnt upto temp .
Clear the codes and see how it drives...then re scan for faults

cheers mate. i did clear them, i will drive to work tomorrow. then scan again see if any come back

ifso, will order a new temp sensor

They are only around £15 if i remember right,
Make sure you know which colour you have. one is green. one is blue
