Hi I have a problem with my Audi I was driving down the road when the brake warning light came on and I heard 3 beeps. I when I got hope I checked the fluid level and topped it up.

I started the car up again and no light or beeps, I drove it round the corner and it started to beep again but this time the pedal went hard.

Now when I put my foot on the pedal it is hard and when I start the car the pedal stays hard. Now I know this indicates the servo being faulty but I cant seem to find it. Any clues.

It is a Audi 100 avant s4 quattro estate.

cheers

I've looked in ETKA for you and it seems to suggest the servo on this car is a hydraulic affair, running perhaps from the PAS pump?

This hydraulic system has some sort of pressure switch too, so perhaps the beeping was indicating a fault in this system?

Definately a power servo ,
and yes it runs off the PS pump .
