You need someone with a code reader like VAG-COM (VCDS) to read your error codes, Your ECU has detected a fault and lit up your Check Engine Light, its a warning.
cheers guys it wasn't actually on my car, it was on my dads bmw but i recognised the symbol. All it has been is trouble... think he needs an audi again!
