Well this is unbelieveable.
I have cured the fault with the audi.
It was a tiny roll pin that had failed allowing the rocker shaft to spin freely thus making the oil holes face in the wrong direction.
Its another example of how stupid these engines are.
I aligned the shaft and fitted new roll...
Video below shows arms with limited access for tappet removal and inlets still pumped up.

Ive managed to remove all exhaust tappets out of the arms which is a very fiddly job. But it is possible.
Firstly you must block oilways to sump icase of debris.
Also cover valve springs to stop debris going in them.

ive finally found the issue but dont know what to do about it.? Head off?
Engine in question 16v pd: they do not have convential hydraulic lifters.
They have 16 rocker arms operating the valves...
If you take the anti shudder valve off and take the side cover off it you will see plastic gears. They are common fault. They could be worn and slipping
Need the injector setting procedure.
Ive done 1.9 before but im not convinced the settings are the same so i need to know how far to turn the grub screw back before i tighten the locknut
Mine is a4 2.0 tdi 140 and throttle is always at 95%. Apparently this is right but for some reason my car is slightly noisier than others ive heard through the airbox on tickover. I cant see why it should be fully open on tickover. My revs are apparently a tiny bit higher than they should be on...

Mines louder in airbox noise than it should be in my opinion.
It has history of cambelt just before i purchased it.
Can you tell me if you had any fault codes or if there was anything you noticed different with performance?
Just read this again and this pressure differential you are on about is getting me thinking. Should the flap move with the revs? My flap only moves to shut the engine. There is no movement that i can see when engine is revving
If you get a long spanner you can take tension off from underneath the car and there is a hole you line up to put a pin in to hold it in that position.
If you look at new one you can work out where pin goes.
I used allen key for pin.
Im wondering if its possoble to change with just moving the...
Oh i see. How does that work then? How do i go about it?
Also it would help if i can find out if the actuator is working correctly and at the correct rpm too
