excellent so thats pretty much what mine is, downpipes +cats leading the the sleeve clamps and then its one long piece right the rear box.
As usual Aragorn ur help is much appreciated.
I have a slight blow in my 2.8 exhaust at the centre bit where the "Y" piece is. I had a look underneath and it seems that my exhaust is all welded up together and is only in 2 bits (front section & back section). What I mean is if we start at the cats which are welded in place, further back is...
right mate what i did was i pressed the contacts on the relay and started the car. It fired up and kept running as normal.
The weird thing is I turned it off and it fired right back up again without any issues. confused now lol
Right guys, my 2.8 wouldnt fire up a few days ago. I noticed the fuel pump wasnt coming on when i turned the ignition on . So I checked the pump relay.
I removed the cover of the top of the relay to have a look and listen , its not working when ignition turned on.
I pressed the contacts of...
I have exactly the same problem. I changed my coolant temp sensor and now my gauge doesnt read over 65-70 . Surely my thermostat isnt broken also because it worked 100% fine prior to me changing the coolant sensor, im sure the chances of the thermostat breaking at exactly the same time as...
Ive started a thread last night with pretty much the same problem. Only difference is Ive just changed my coolant temp sensor (blue type boght on ebay for 4.99), now my gauge only reads 70, where as before it would sit at 90 all day long. ????????
Got it on ebay for £4.00 :(
i thought it wasnt the sensor that the gauge worked of, I was under the impression the gauge works of a small "sender" . It did on my old vauxhall anyway
Changed the coolant temp sensor the other day , my issue is prior to this the temp gauge sat at 90 all day long and reached this temp in about 5-10 mins. It now only reads 70 and takes forever to reach even this.
I did notice that immediately after changing the sensor the temp gauge was...
Hi buddy, not too much noise when bouncing on car, it does do it when going over bumps though,
its there when stationery and moving. I thought it was coming the column because it does sound like it is form there but as said before its also making the noise on the outside.
definately mate. turned the wheel today and listened on the outside. its very audible, infact its a little embarrassing because it sounds terrible lol.
Oh P.S -
I jacked it up today to patch up the exhaust and whilst it was up i turned the wheel to check for the noise, it did not make the...
just done a few searches on google for this issue. Dont think its the control arms making the noise . The only way I could describe the noise is its like running ur finger on an inflated baloon when turning the steering wheel.
Could be the seals in the rack maybe??
My 2.8 has developed a horrible squeaking / squealing noise on both left and right turn of the steering wheel.
At first I thought it was from inside the car (around steering column) but now I am almost certain its external. Even when I go over a bump it makes the noise also which makes me think...
i dont have vcds, its a friend whos not always available who has it. Ive had experience in the past with other cars with dodgy temp sensors, basically slightly lumpy running at low revs when just trundling along at say 20mph, (makes it quite jerky).
My audi is now doing this also
just curious to know if there are any symptoms for a dodgy coolant temp sensor on my 2.8 30v.
Also a dodgy cam sensor. last time VCDS was connected it showed a dodgy cam sensor, The fault was cleared but would like to know if i should change them anyway
thanks guys
