Update: the Supersport's are excellent. Not only has the lightness of the tyre improved the handling/steering a fair bit but the grip as you can imagine is awesome. They've got a very reliable feel in all conditions and never give the impression of being "twitching on the edge" when you are...
I'm sorry I don't exactly remember as it was a year or so ago and I've passed all the receipts on when I sold it. I'm reptty sure it was just the sender unit and not the pump also. Why would you need a pump if the car still runs? I don't even think it's part of the same system, so I would...
This happened to me with my 2005 3.0 TD. Filled up and the gauge went to zero. After that it was intermittent for a while before I got it replaced. I was told " common fault". I also think there are two gauges as it's a saddle shaped tank. So only one has to fail.
I had this model before my present S6. Personally I would stick with OEM all the way!
I thought I need better brakes and switched to Tarox drilled/grooved discs with OEM pads and they were noisey as hell! In hindsight there was nothing really wrong with my OEM discs but as I drove the car...
I'll refer you to this link: AmD Tuning AmD Tuning DSG gearbox software upgrade for Audi S6 5.2 V10 FSI quattro
I have the Tiptronic 'box so this upgrade won't apply but I was very interested in the bit where you can activate the in gear display.
I.e. where the digital speedo is you get a big...
I ended up buying the Michelin SuperSport's.
Not had much running since then but initial thoughts are very good. Also - they are ridiculously light tyres!
You could make your own. Silicone induction piping and elbows are easily available as are universal fitment cone filters. If you need to make a seperate airbox and ducting you can prototype this out of carboard and then get a local engineering shop to fabricate it in whatever material you wish...
After getting the S6 last year I decided to treat it to some K&N air filters. Duly delivered I went about fitting said filters and was surprised (or perhaps not) to find that despite a recent Audi service that the filters in the vehicle look like they'd not been changed in 5 years.
However it...
It's not that there's anything wrong with the suspension, I am sure it's doing what the factory designed it to but...
It's a bit hard/bouncy over some of the tighter and "lumpier" roads near us. It's not like it's going to loose traction (heavens no!) but it doesn't inspire confidence.
I have...
39 psi. Infact I'd spent an age trying to find the best pressure for the tyre and eventually tried higher (as high as 42 psi) but have eventually found 39 is pretty steady.
No problems with understeer or the front end but maybe I've not been trying hard enough! But that may be a feature of the...
Looking for some inspiration on tyre choice for my '07 V10 S6.
Obvious choices are:
Michelin SSport or PS3's
Conti Sport Contact 5P
Goodyear Fl Aym 2
PZero's.
Anyone with some real life experience of the above?
I'm running Conti SC 3 just now and am happy but reading reviews it seems the...
Well you've probably fixed it by now (or got rid of the car) but it could be a split in the hosing on the intake side. I had this on a different turbo car and under acceleration it spewed out black smoke but was reasonably OK cruising. The split only opened up when teh engine flexed under load...
Hi,
A 2001 A6 Quattro Sport.
Done a few miles but drives nicely and after its valet mint condition inside and out.
Of course I'm looking forward to asking a lot of n00bish questions, but I hope I'll have trawled throught the tech sections for at least a couple of min's before I do!!
