Hiya All -
As per the title, I'm looking for a recommended Audi mechanic to troubleshoot and fix an issue with my A4 B7 Avant.
Anywhere in the Barnard Castle, Bishop Auckland and Darlington area.
What have you got for me? :thumbs up:
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
Yeah, there is a front center speaker.
I think if the weather was better and I had a long weekend, I would probably strip the interior and give it a go.
..but it's too cold, wet and this 3rd lockdown has made my interest in my car almost zero.
I've managed to get my hands on full set of Bose speakers and sub, including the wiring loom which connects from the sub.
Am I correct in thinking, the front/center speakers are powered from the head unit and the rear speakers are powered from the sub?
Would someone be able to point me in the...
That's snapped - You'll need to replace it.
Which funnily enough happened to mine about a month ago.
It's a fairly easy job which took me a couple of hours.
This is the replacement I used for the passenger side...
TBH - I tried that, but couldn't see a clear path without removing a lot of parts to get there. Ware's the bumper is only 14 bolts/screws and it's off..
...famous last words, right?!? :racer:
Picked mine up from Amazon, but I went with a slightly different version:
OSRAM XENARC NIGHT BREAKER LASER D1S
Ohhh...and it's a bumper off job as I've got big hands and don't fancy breaking my fingers trying to fit them!
The Xenon's are staying, just new bulbs.
I'm looking at replacing the DLR with these: https://www.osram.com/ecat/LEDriving%20PREMIUM-LED%20signal%20lamps-Car%20lighting-Automotive/com/en/GPS01_3380669/PP_EUROPE_Europe_eCat/
And the fogs with these...
Since I'm going to be replacing the Xenon Bulbs, thought I'd upgrade the rest of the headlight bulbs while the bumper is off and the headlights out.
Looking at the Osram retrofit LED's.
Does anyone know if I'll need the canbus control unit for each set?

Thanks Chaps -
Cable ordered - diagnostics first. I hear ya :thumbs up:
@Sidrick - I'm assuming that would be a new set of cams?
@tr7 - Thanks bud, will give those a go!
Thanks Rob - appreciate the detailed response!
I'm thinking this is turning into project car time - yay!
Well I suppose this will keep me busy if we're going back into lockdown.
Will probably start with the front timing and work my way forward from there... after I'm run proper diagnostics on...
We both checked the cam lobe and it looked fine.
One other error which is showing up is the timing. Wondering if the front belt timing is off, would this cause issues with fueling?
