Hi Guys,
The handbrake button on my Audi A3 1.9 TDI has started to stick...only way i can get it to apply the handbrake sometimes is to pull the handbrake up without pushing the button in. Has anyone had the same problem? any idea how to fix or how much it would cost to fix?
Cheers for...
The rear brake bulb has recently gone in my A3 (52 plate) and i'm abit stumped as to how to replace the bulb?!
I've had a quick look and from the looks of it i have to unbolt the screws holding the whole light cluster in then replace the bulb that way, because you can't slide out the clip...
...illegal....
end of the day, if i go to audi for a service and pay through the nose for it i expect them to do a professional job...not do a half a*sed one!
although it makes you wonder what chimp they had working on my car and how gd really was my service?!
anyway the cars fine...the cv...
...well i just got back from the dealer....didn't really need to say much
they had a look......oh look no rip..excuse was "yeah there was alot of oil so the mechanic assumed it was ripped"....."so you mean he didn't bother looking properly?!"...."ummm yeaah"....here's a credit note to say sorry...
Gave the original dealer a ring yesterday and politely outlined the issue of the 'prefectly fine cv boot'...they ask if i can bring it in for a second look...would of thought they would of done this when reporting a fault in the first place?! ...but nevermind.
anyway i'll see what they say on...

maybe....i've put 14K on it since i got it plus for resale i'll hopefully be able to get more with a lower mileage
...the alternative was a s3, but the insurance was a silly amount

Come on. Get this into proportion, and get back to enjoying your car

...yeah i know my toys are firmly out of my pram
It still annoys me when you pay that much at a dealer they can stuff it up

Your car must be over 3 years old so why are you still...
yeah i don't plan to go monkey poo on them down the phone, it was just the fact it was booked in to have it replaced with them shortly and i wudn't have know about it if i hadn't have had it checked....mistakes are made yes...but it does bring up the question how good was my service if they got...
Had my car service lasted month and the dealer said ( and printed on my service sheet) the cv boot was split and needed replacing (190 quid!! )...so i had a 3rd party mechanic have a look at it to see how bad it was...to my surprise he said there's nothing wrong with them, so i go to another...
..just had my A3 serviced by my local audi stealer, and they kindly told me the cv boot was going and it would need replacing (why not tell me this during the service?! )
anyway...i'm sure they replaced this last year under warranty, so that can't be right its going again, has anyone had...
Just got in my car at lunch and my drivers side door indicator won't turn off, it says the door is open when its closed?!!?
anyone had this problem aswell? any idea how to fix it?
Thanks,
JC
Well i phoned my local stealer to find out what they offered warranty-wise and which 3rd party companies they would except...
audi warranty is well a rip off, so i've ruled that out (700 quid plus!!)
they did say 3rd party-wise they wouldn't turn any of them down, althou they did warn me that...
...the end is nigh for the audi warranty on my A3 1.9TDI , so i've decided to look into possibley extending it for another year or two.
Is it worth it? plus which company's are worth looking at for warranties?!
Results....just got back from Dealer, the tube has correded completely so there replacing it all under warranty
plus i'll get a shiney new Audi to play in next sat while there fitting it!
bk1, i've had a look for the thread u mentioned that shows a picture of the inside of the boot so i know where the clips are that hold the trim on, but can't seem to find it.
do u still have that picture? or know where the thread is?
thanks for your help,
JC
Cheers bk1, thats great....hopefully i won't have to use the thread guide for takin it all apart myself, but thats really helpful if i have to do it thou
Many thanks, JC
Ahh cool, hopefully mines corroded aswell...instead of just the tube coming off, otherwise i'll have to give the taking the boot cover off ago
Does anyone know the link to HTC rear washer thread, can't seem to find it?
