Just wondering if anyone has any measurements or preferably a drawing of an EGR blanking plate for a 2.5tdi. Got use of a laser cutter next week so was going to draw it up in cad and print a few out.
Nah was just a repair. Slid down a driveway into a lamp post in the snow and hit front corner.
correct, from 2006 onwards for the big tax. tax is same as the a4 at £260
I'm off to test drive a 53 plate BMW M3 later this week with a view to buying it. 32k miles, sat nav & dvd, 6 disc, harmon kardan. It's got SMG so i'm not sure I'll get on with it but can't wait. If SMG is right for me then I'll be having it!!
I'm not sure what to do with the A4 though because...
Yea my first thought was that the tax disc had blown out or something - it's nowhere to be seen in the car. I found a few parking tickets stuffed down the dash and passenger's seat rails.
I thought the same with the boot. You have to manually press it to open it even a little bit, which makes...
Yea i've had the car 3 years now and got full set of keys so no need to worry about that, besides the guy I bought it off is a member on here and a nice bloke.
I'm probably being paranoid and the tax disc has blown out or something and the open boot incident was me sitting on keys!...
So, I returned to my car and had a police warning saying my tax was invalid which was surprising as I'd only just paid £260 for a new tax disc less than a month ago!
Anyway I looked in my tax disc holder expecting to see a misprint or something on the new one, but the old tax disc was there...
Great choice. Would be interested to hear how you find the Merc as I'm looking at the SL500 or and older SL55 or an E46 M3. Heart and head says M3 as i've wanted one for years and it's the "cheap" option but the Merc keeps ending up in my internet history
Thanks, Not had a new battery for a year or more so not sure if there would be an electrical spike. Running it now until it does it again then i'll get it on a proper vagcom to get a more comprehensive set of fault codes.
That's what i'm doing at the moment. Used it this weekend and not a glitch. Seems to run a lot smoother without the tuning box on and after 2 cans of injector cleaner so guess i'll see how it goes
Took the car out today and it drove perfectly. Which seems strange to me if it is the injector pump. I'd have thought if it's gone, it's gone for good? (Or would it carry on working and keep throwing up intermittent faults?)
The mechanic who looked over the car says it seems to have a feint...
Half can of fabreeze into the intake under the pollen filter and the other half in the car on recirculate worked a treat on mine. No smells since, well, other than fabreeze summer mist or whatever!
Thanks for the reply. Not what I wanted to hear, but pretty much what I expected when I saw the codes. I think the ignition light is just a symptom of whatever else is going on.
The car cut out randomly about a month ago and I figured it was immobiliser as there weren't any fault codes or...
...unit for injection pump
463a engine control unit blocked
Any ideas? Fuel pump was buzzing for a bit after it cut out.
To say I'm unhappy is a f*ing understatement all power went and nearly trashed the car at some speed. Steering went and I almost went straight off the road! Arrrrrggghhh!
Not long after fixing the bonnet release catch my car cut out and steering lock came on at NSL! No repeat episodes yet, but no idea what caused it so I wondered if the wiring was routed that way
Can anybody tell me if the the immobiliser wiring is routed beneath the bonnet release catch under steering wheel? I have a sneaky suspicion I might have disturbed it when fitting a new bonnet release catch.
Cheers
...as the engine wasn't on. This happened twice afterwards, both times as the turbo spooled.
I had a quick look over the engine bay and everything *looks* fine, no leaks visible, all pipes and wires look ok, temperature sitting on 90. Scanned it and no fault codes.
After the scan the car...
You mention ABS sensor, do you get 3-4 quick flashes of your ABS warning with beeps on startup? If so i'm led to believe that it is just a warning for low voltage to the abs system, caused by the cold weather. Mine has been doing it for 2-3 weeks since the weather took a turn for the worse. It...
