Hi guys as the title I have brought a kenwood stereo with the connects 2 wires and adapters from dynamic sounds so thought it would be an easy install but of course not!
Got it all together turned on the ignition and nothing!!
Any help would be great as I can’t stand wires!!I’ll attach pics of the wiring bits as they look so different

yeah that doesn't fit you need the quadlock cable... you should exchange it for the right connector... something you should've checked before buying to be honest. These cars can have 2 connectors, quadlock or the old ISO connector that needs a breakout cable to get the rear speakers connected too. In your case it's the quadlock. Connects2 do sell them and it's possible you'll need to pay extra for that quadlock to connects2 interface cable.

Yeah that was my bad but it’s the only kit I saw that had all the wiring and the face plate as a kit so assumed it must have been the kit I needed, I take it this is the part I now need to install this?

I'd go onto the connects2 website if I was you and find the set you got, than check for the cable by itself. The connects2 interface will be the same one you already have

Lol it's just one of these things the connects2 interfaces for these cars are all the same the cables are different usually what makes the difference. And since you already got the box, just get the right cable, they do sell them separately for this reason.

Any chance you could steer me in the right direction as I’ve had a look and I might as well be reading Egyptian and I’ll definitely order the wrong one as I seem to be very good at that!

The connects2 loom/adaptor should be this one
Connects2 CTKAU02

https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/con...in-car-stereo-fitting-kit.html?search=CTKAU02

or the total package which includes the conencton kit

https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/aud...a-car-stereo-upgrade-kit.html?search= CTKAU02

I ordered the first kit as I was installing an Alpine 705D

TBH I got my audio guy to fit it , because like you I am a pretty numpty with the whole wiring . But @Charlie Farley is an expert at this. Sadly he is out of action right now recovering so is not online currently so you may need some other expertise. Saying that, everything in the connects 2 is labelled so you should find your way around it ok . Good luck

Did you use this same set to do it in the end?

correct, the first link I sent ( which is hopefully what you ordered ) is the defacto one for our year of Audi regardless of what stereo you use .
Note the section on the website about an aeriel adaptor, if you read down the description. I think I ignored that as I was going DAB.

Connects2 CTKAU02 Audi Double Din Stereo Replacement Kit allows fitment of a Double DIN aftermarket headunit to the selected vehicle. Audi A4 Installation Kit. Supplied With Double Din Fascia Kit, CAN-Bus Steering Wheel Control Interface (ISO And Quadlock Looms), Antenna Adaptor, Audi Release Keys & Universal Patch lead

You see it mentions both quadlock and ISO ( so obviously one bit is redundant )

I have exactly the same setup in both cars, the S Line and the RS. One because I have no imagination and two because I enjoy the familiarity of one system in both cars so I can jump into either car and get exactly the same apple car play interface, controls etc. You favour Kenwood which is cool, but the connection is the same .

So if that’s the one I needed how comes I’m not getting anything working

well then that is really odd as for the most part it is plug and play. I am no expert but it may well be the case that you have to take it apart, retrace your steps and just get to the section where the main quad lock is connected ( or ISO depending on your loom from the car ) and see if you get power to the unit when the car igntion is turned on. If not then somewhere is the issue. If you get power to the unit, then good to proceed with the rest. I wish I was more of an expert to offer more help

I’m so confused now do I need something else or should this be working I don’t understand it at all

We have established you have the right kit so it SHOULD work hence me saying go back and check everything

Sorry mate I'm out at the moment...but any halfords should be able to get you the right cable.

Right tried it a different way not using the cable that came with the head unit it now turns on but no sound

Why can’t these things be simple like this is my car this is what I’m putting and then there is one harness for it instead of 100 and some work some dont

I think it is the the one that ends in 3 so the first one in the link i put up.

But you can use the chat option on the website to make sure.

I’m currently sat in halford seeing what they can do to help

That's great. It is confusing since all of the listings for A4 B7s, from those manufacturers, such as Connect2, assume Quadlock. When in point of fact, ISO persisted until around late 2006. It means that often you are better for those models, such as mine, looking under B6 listings, on those websites. Furthermore, the confusion between Bose and Non-Bose can often complicate matters, when it is really quite simple: full amplification as opposed to half amplification does not necessarily require the need to fit filter and line attenuators, which often rob bass. Added to which is the complexity of steering wheel controls, if you have a multifunction wheel. These cars are canbus and user programmable setups are SWC, from the canbus box. All branded aftermarket HUs, like your Kenwood use this method, whereas the Chinese Android units tend to have Canbus only, unless you cut cables. I programmed mine with software, for Voice control with Android Auto.

using any aftermarket loom can be fraught with problems, going aftermarket on a b7 is multiplied by 10..lol
most connect 2 kits will require a link cut or fitted depending on the HU brand, also not all installs work out of the box as they are based on oe setup and lots of b7's have been messed with or have specific oe options that need more specific loom changes but if one checks the pinouts on the OE headunit ( and there is a diagram on most) its not had to backtrack what is required.
