Long story short guys my son bought a 2015 golf gtd 184 bhp from lookers vw 5 months ago . Today we had it into a local VW dealer for health check they have noticed a bad oil leak from camshaft pulley .The timing belt was changed at an independent garage but as seen on the video it is a genuine timing belt , the car was bought with two years approved warranty will VW be liable to fix this ???

I’m not sure how changing the cam belt can cause an oil leak ?
Picture is of our GTD when I did the belt.

In would go to the lookers garage and ask if it comes under the warranty.
Was the work done since you bought the car or not? as it may be an issue .

They are saying it’s crank pulley at bottom so needs belt removed etc

Can’t see how the belt change would cause the crank seal to leak
Did you not ask the independent if they noticed it leaking at all ?

It was another vw dealership who sent me the vid of the leak and the original supplier of the car assures me it would not have left them like that
