Just posting to let everyone know I've fixed the problem. My fans used to run constantly when the car was started until I turned it off, I also had no temperature gauge. All fixed now. The car warms up at sits at 90. And the fans only kick in when it gets up to temperature. I'm extatic. I found the problem through process of elimination. I hope I can save somebody the headache I've had and the money too. If I had the knowledge I have now I wouldn't do anything I've read about before testing one simple thing first. What I would suggest everybody check is the power feed in volts going to the temperature sensor plug. I had 0.06v on 1 pin and 0.01 on the other. I tested the ecu end and got a reading of about 2.80v so I knew there was a power problem somewhere in the loom. I didn't want to go down the route of finding that so I've soldered a new wire on to the original wires just before the plug on both ends. Now I have the reading of 2.80v at the sensor plug. Plugged it back in and happy days. Everything works as it should, it runs a lot better now too as it was overfueling. The cost for my repair was £0.00p just a bit of wire, solder, electrical tape and some cable ties. Engine management light has also turned off even though I have the abs to fix now. If anybody has any questions I'll be happy to help the best I can, as I've been through all of the possible causes of this problem.
