Hello all.

Has anybody replaced their air vent blades with the red ones?
I quite like the look of them and it adds abit of colour to the interior.
Just wondering how hard they are to fit?

I stripped my vents myself and had them painted in the right matched colour, they look exactly like OEM,
Its not a hard job to do just need 8 fingers and 2 thumbs. trim separator tools and long nose pliers to disassemble the units.

I bought a set from ebay about 3 weeks ago and fit great for 10.00, dont bother painting yours, its not worth it.
The first vent took me about 45 min to take apart as I had no idea what I was doing LOL
The second air vent took me 5 min.

The bought ones look good enough, Just heard of a few people having issued with the lugs being easy to snap off and being abit too shiny but yours look ok in the pics.

The only problem I had is that they came from china and one of the legs was not built properly and could not install it, but I sent a picture to the seller on ebay and they quickly sent me out another set, no questions asked which was good. I am sure that was a one off, but its the risk you take I guess.

They do look very nice, I just need to take off the red inner ring as the red is a different colour and I am not sure if I like it?

Maybe you could a wee fitment guide for the rest of us? It would be greatly appreciated.

the vents pop out from the dash with a slight bit of leverage, (use a trim tool or similar flat plastic scraper to fit between the vent and the dash) They are not screwed in
once you have the vent out you need to get the "ball" part out of the housing, use long nose plyers to squeeze the clip together to allow you to pull the centre "ball" out

This is the tricky but, separating the "ball" there are a few clips, as you unclip them you need a small wedge to stop them closing, I think there are 5-6 clips, once you have done 2/3 it comes apart ok. sounds confusing but really isn't, I don't have pics

Someone actually gave me the guide, you need needle nose pliers, thats about it I think.
I will try find the guide, give me 5
I was a bit weary as you really need to be agressive taking the vents out as you really need to pull them, also when you take the vent apart, it goes in like 5 different pieces, and your like WTF !!!

They look fantastic! And with the trim as well! Good job!
Nearly bought a set of orange and black trimmed leather to match from a very early 8v (when you actually were able to choose your interior trim) , but managed to stop myself.....:grimacing:

Yeah I would prefer matte red ones rather than shiny red ones but haven’t found any yet.

I ordered the red rings for the air vent surrounds before I considered the blades. I can’t fit both as it would be too much so probably won’t fit the rings now.

I wish I would not have installed the inner red ring as its a different red than the rest.
I am not sure how to take them off as they are really glued on, may have to try give them a real good pull.

I like the outer red and blades only.
